Thompson Couplings Limited is an unlisted public company, based in Orange NSW, Australia with more than 2600 registered shareholdings.

The Directors plan to broaden the scope of the company; by building relationships world wide, with existing and potential commercial partners and positioning the Alignment Eliminator® and the Thompson Constant Velocity Joint (TCVJ®) to become a major force in global industry.

2000 Idea generated by Glenn Thompson for the Thompson Constant Velocity Joint the TCVJ®.

2001 Initial patents submitted for the mechanism.

2001 First TCVJ® conceptual prototypes designed.

2001 Verification of true constant velocity by leading academics.

2003 Registration as a  public, unlisted Australian company...Thompson Couplings Limited (TCL).

2003 First TCVJ® Series patents granted (Australia, New Zealand, RSA, Russia, Singapore).

2004 1st Public share offering.

2005 Establishment of permanent test facility in Orange New South Wales, Australia.

2006 2nd Public share offering.

2006 First production TCVJ® model launched for trials.

2007 Employment of full time engineering and business staff.

2007 Idea generated by the TCL R&D team for the Alignment Eliminator® Series. 

2007 First production order of a 64,000 Nm Alignment Eliminator® AE Series coupling for an Australian mining company.

2007 Granting of SAE A Gold medal for Engineering Excellence for the TCVJ®.

2007 Granting of Australia's highest Engineering Award the Bradfield Award from Engineers Australia for the TCVJ®.

2008 Establishment of permanent production centre in Orange New South Wales Australia with additional staff. Appointment of CEO.

2008 Boeing USA signs development contract.

2008 Development and order for 8,000 Nm Alignment Eliminator® TCVJ® Extended Length Coupling for Paper Mill in the USA.

2008 Winning a Climate Ready Grant from the Australian Government to study TCVJ® energy effeciency.

2009 ISO 9001 certification achieved.

2009 Development and large scale order for 2,000 Nm Alignment Eliminator® TCVJ® Extended Length Couplings for monorail drive trains in Mumbai India.

2009 Development of Alignment Eliminator® AE Series for close coupled pumps and motors.

2009 Installation of several Alignment Eliminator® AE Series couplings in demanding slurry pumping applications in paper mills in Australia.

2010 Installation of several Alignment Eliminator® TCVJ® Series couplings in precision wood saw applications in Canada.

2010 New web site generates interest from 77 countries and from all but one US state. (Vermont)
